Andrew B. Martinez is an applied macroeconomist whose research focuses on time series econometrics, forecasting, and international macroeconomic policy, particularly in the context of climate change and sustainability. He serves as an Economist in the Office of Macroeconomic Analysis at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and as an Associate in the Climate Econometrics group at Nuffield College, University of Oxford. Martinez earned his DPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford, where he worked on empirical modeling and macroeconomic forecasting under the supervision of leading econometricians.
His academic work has been published in journals such as Energy Economics, Nature Sustainability, the International Journal of Forecasting, and the Annals of Operations Research. Martinez has contributed to developing climate-informed macroeconomic models and is actively involved in bridging the gap between empirical research and policymaking, particularly around climate risk, inflation, and international economic stability.
